Pool Deck and Wood Deck Cleaning in Alpharetta, GA
Alpharetta, GA

What we found and what we did
In June 2026 we cleaned a residential pool deck and a wood pergola structure at a backyard in Alpharetta, GA. The pool area had a mix of concrete flatwork and flagstone pavers surrounding a kidney-shaped pool with a waterfall feature — two different surfaces that call for slightly different approaches on the same job.
The pool deck got a surface-cleaner pass across the concrete sections, followed by a focused rinse on the flagstone pavers. Flagstone holds grime in the textured faces and in the joints, so we slowed down over those areas and rinsed at an angle that pulls debris out of the gaps rather than pushing it deeper. After the main pass, we post-treated where the stone showed algae or biofilm residue. Some rinse water will find its way into the pool regardless of how carefully you work around the coping — that's just the geometry of a poolside job — so we kept chemistry concentrations conservative on the surfaces closest to the water's edge.
The wood deck cleaning portion of the job was a soft wash on the pergola structure beside the pool. The pergola had the usual surface grime you see on exterior wood in the Alpharetta climate: a season's worth of pollen, some green tint on the shadier faces, and general oxidation on the painted surfaces. We applied a bleach-and-surfactant mix at low volume, let it dwell, then flushed it with moderate pressure to clear the chemistry without lifting the finish. The stone columns flanking the pergola entry got the same rinse treatment while we were working that section.
The backyard also had an outdoor kitchen wall in flagstone that we rinsed down as part of clearing the pool deck perimeter. The whole area cleaned up well — the stone pavers beside the pool in particular showed a noticeably brighter tone once the biofilm layer was gone.
