House wash and camper cleaning in Canton, GA

Canton, GA

What we found and what we did

In June 2026 we soft-washed the exterior of a residential home in Canton, GA and cleaned an RV/travel trailer parked on the property. The house had algae working across the vinyl siding, most visibly on the side walls where shade keeps the surface damp long enough for growth to take hold. The wood surfaces on the property got the same treatment.

For the house, we applied a sodium-hypochlorite mix with surfactant at low pressure, bottom-up on the siding panels so the chemistry wet the lower laps before running down. Dwell time was long enough to kill the algae colony rather than just rinse it loose — skipping that dwell is how you end up with algae that comes back in a single season. After dwell, we rinsed top-down with a fan tip. The vinyl siding came out clean across all elevations.

The gutters were stubborn. Oxidation streaks on aluminum gutters sometimes respond to a brightening agent, but in this case the staining on the gutter face didn't clear fully despite the extra pass. We noted that honestly rather than calling it done. A dedicated gutter-brightening visit with an oxalic- or sodium-hydroxide-based gutter whitener would be the right next step if the homeowners want those completely clean.

The travel trailer got a separate wash pass suited to its fiberglass and painted panels. RV surfaces scratch easily, so we kept pressure low and let the chemistry handle the road grime and surface mildew rather than pushing pressure up to compensate.

Canton summers are humid enough that algae re-establishes on north-facing and shaded siding within a couple of years. A soft wash on a regular schedule keeps it from getting as deep a foothold as it had here.
